I'm still alive, really. I read every day, I just never actually post.
Turning 25 was most excellent yesterday. I did not partake in the alcohol as I originally thought I would, but the older I get, the less I care to drink. That fascination started waning at about 18 and half. You can't forget that half.
But yes, birthday! There was much cake to be had. Much. Because I got two! Mom and Rich bought me one, and then the boy came in with the girliest cake imaginable. It was white with pink roses and writing, sparkles, and butterfly decorations. He really does adore me. I haven't tried any of it yet, but I do believe he cut it today to take Ben a piece. Ben was kind enough to switch shifts with him so he could spend the evening with me, so he deserves cake! I'm hungry now, so I'll probably be helping myself to some very soon.
There was also most excellent Texas Steakhouse food. My favorite chicken tenders were delicious as usual, along with the cheese fries, salad, and rolls. I should have worn fat pants so I could have eaten more. I really would like to have one of those Hershey brownie things again. They did not sing to me though, which is a relief. That experience is only necessary once in one's life.
We shopped afterwards. I always have to go to Toys R Us, you know. I found my long-sought-after Christian Cage figure, the one with the suit. The WWE really missed the boat with that one. I also bought a 400 page Hello Kitty coloring book. ^^; Kent gave me a box of 120 crayons for Valentine's, so now I have even more reason to use them. From there, we hit up Books a Million. I've recently gotten back into reading, but I lack anything to read. I should go to Dad's and get all of my books. But they did not have Son of Rosemary (I had ordered it from Amazon, and they refunded my money) unfortunately. I bought three InuYasha mangas though and a book for the boy. He tried to protest, but I insisted until he finally showed me the one he wanted. He was short on funds (this was the day before payday), and I refused to let him go home empty-handed. He would have bought my books for me had it been the other way around. Besides, what good is birthday money if you don't spend it gleefully?
I've already read the first InuYasha book. I'm trying not to tear through them so quickly, but once I start reading, it's hard to stop. That's why I finished Rosemary's Baby in two days.
Beyond the stuff I bought for myself, Kent gave me the rad shoes I was eyeing. He pays attention at the strangest times, I swear. And BJ bought She-Ra: Season 1 Volume 1 for me!! I'm about to pop the first disc in and bask in my 80s cartoon love.
Four days off from work (one with pay, no less) is also an excellent birthday present.
